I began my career in human resources at the Pentagon, where I managed global HR programs and led change management initiatives for the Department of the Army. That experience prepared me for my promotion to Senior Operations & HR Director, where I directed enterprise-level operations for more than 2,000 personnel. I was entrusted with multi-million-dollar budgets, developed leadership programs, and built strategic partnerships with dignitaries and senior officials, which broadened my perspective on organizational leadership and government relations.
Transitioning to the private sector, I took on the challenge of leading overnight operations in a unionized distribution center at Giant Food. There, I negotiated with union representatives, improved labor relations, and implemented workflow redesigns that boosted productivity and safety. My efforts were recognized with awards for operational excellence and labor relations achievement.
At Scholastic, I managed a large distribution facility, introduced innovative logistics solutions, and was honored for both operational and sales achievements—experiences that deepened my expertise in logistics and team leadership.
My journey continued at Amazon, where I directed night operations in a one-million-square-foot fulfillment center during peak demand periods. Overseeing more than 400 associates, I implemented lean processes that improved throughput by 20% and partnered with HR and Safety teams to maintain compliance and operational integrity. At Macy’s Distribution Center, I led outbound operations, optimized processes, and used data analytics to inform strategic decisions, further honing my skills in high-volume environments.
Driven by a desire to make a broader social impact, I founded Troy Damon Dorsey, LTD, a nonprofit dedicated to workforce development for at-risk youth and returning citizens. I created programs that were adopted by multiple states, secured sustainable funding, and built partnerships with educators, civic leaders, and employers. This chapter of my career reinforced my commitment to community engagement and long-term impact.
Today, as Founder & CEO of DEI Electus Corporation, I deliver operational oversight and strategic guidance to corporate partners and franchised businesses across diverse industries. I’ve designed and executed strategic business plans that achieved double-digit revenue growth, developed innovative training curricula, and driven continuous improvement through SWOT analyses and process audits. Throughout my journey, I’ve been recognized for transformational leadership, financial stewardship, and a steadfast commitment to stakeholder engagement—qualities that continue to drive my passion for measurable impact and sustainable success.
My academic path has been integral to shaping my career and leadership philosophy. I earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Social Work and Criminology at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. This foundation gave me a deep understanding of social systems and human behavior, which has been invaluable throughout my career.
Motivated by a desire to create meaningful change, I pursued a Master of Social Work at Southern Connecticut State University, where I deepened my expertise in social policy and community engagement. Recognizing the importance of business acumen, I went on to complete my MBA in Business Administration & Logistical Operations at UNC Chapel Hill, graduating with distinction and a 3.87 GPA. This experience equipped me with the strategic and analytical skills necessary for high-level decision-making and operational leadership.
Currently, I am advancing toward my Doctor of Business Administration in Organizational Leadership at Wilmington University, further strengthening my ability to lead organizations through complex challenges and transformation. Alongside my formal education, I earned certifications including Six Sigma Black Belt, CSCMP Warehousing Operations, International Logistics, HR Leadership & Strategic Impact, and Supply Chain Analysis & Reporting. These credentials have empowered me to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement in every role I’ve held.
Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have also authored and published impactful programs such as Pathways to Success; a youth development curriculum adopted in several states and implemented internationally, and Beyond Barriers, a mentorship initiative supporting returning citizens and reducing recidivism. These accomplishments reflect my commitment to empowering both organizations and communities through education, innovation, and leadership.
