With over a decade of experience in archiving and collections management, I am excited to apply for the Gallery Associate position at Sims Contemporary. My diverse background provides me with a deep understanding of both the administrative and curatorial aspects of gallery operations.
In my previous role as Archivist and Registrar for a New York art gallery, I maintained the digital database and physical storage and conservation of the gallery’s photography collection through registration, condition reporting, and digitization. My other contributions include exhibition support through curation and layout, exhibit lists, website updates, graphic design, photo and video editing, art installation, art fair preparation, artist and client liaisons, and virtual mockups and viewing room renderings. Additionally, I have experience leading gallery walkthroughs, providing insightful discussions about artworks, and enhancing visitor engagement.
My background also includes Archivist and Studio Manager at landscape-architecture Image Annotator at digital-licensing agency, and Studio Services/Production Assistant for a New York City photography studio. All of these experiences strengthened my operations management, time-management, and multi-tasking capabilities.
Beyond my archival expertise, I am passionate about fostering connections between art and its audience. Whether assisting with exhibitions, coordinating logistics, or ensuring seamless day-to-day operations, I am committed to supporting the institution's mission and enhancing its impact.
