My name is Ana Virginia or Ms. Gina. I have been working in Special Education for more than 15 years. I have been fortunate to work in different environments, which has allowed me to adapt to needs as required by students, staff, and parents. Each school or in-home service I have worked for has contributed to building my aptitude and performance when working with my students and staff.
One of my greatest experiences has been understanding that each child and family is unique. Therefore, goals and behavior plans should be created according to the child's needs, always considering the environment. Consistency, teamwork, and communication are also vital to me. These tools have helped me be organized and goal-oriented when working with my students.
While working as a BI (Behavior Interventionist), I implemented ABA principles In- School Based and In-Home Services. Under the supervision of a BCBA, I have experience creating or updating Behavior Plans for our students, creating goals and monthly reports with data collected. I have also trained new hires and provided Parent Education Training.
While working as a Resource Teacher, I updated students’ profiles, created academic goals to achieve IEP goals, attended IEPs, and communicated regularly with teachers, parents, supervisors, and principal to discuss student’s achievements and needs.
My most relevant education is currently completing my credentialing program. I can learn from various new strategies most pertinent to our current educational needs.
