I have worked as a hands on boatbuilder, a boat designer, and a home builder. My passions are bicycling, music and sailing. I love the outdoors and work well with others. Past highlights include three mission trips to Cuba to help rebuild an aging church in the City of Trinidad.
In the mid-eighties, I posted two firsts and a third place in the Kenduskeag Stream canoe race, twice in boats that I had designed and built. A self-motivated person, I designed and oversaw construction of a 35-foot production sailing catamaran which was produced in Clearwater, FL in the 90's. This involved designing the composite structure in addition to all mechanical and electrical systems.
As a building contractor, and while working in the commercial and pleasure boat markets, I have developed proficiency with various 3D design software packages. My degree in Mechanical Engineering with Highest Distinction speaks to my strong analytical ability, but I also have a hands-on approach to life and work. My best skills lay in creative design solutions, and communication with clients and co-workers.
I graduated from a two year boatbuilding program and then attended the University of Maine at Orono, where I received a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering Degree.
