Alexis Brown

I am a licensed social worker with over 5 years experience in child protection. I have experience in a variety of settings with diverse clients, including both long-term and brief intervention. I've worked with children, youth, adults and families using an eclectic approach tailored to the unique needs of each client.

I am currently part of an organisation that invests in youth to tackle inequalities. I manage two programs called Family Affairs and the Psychosocial Department.

Family

Affairs focuses on parental skills which enables resilience in families. The Welfare department focuses on psychosocial support to youth at schools and focuses on mental health awareness. I oversee the full program management for each program which includes but not limited to, redesigning programs, monitoring and evaluation oversight, individual and group supervision of counsellors, observation of facilitators in the field, creating partnerships with various NGOs, NPOs, government organisations as well as partnerships within the private sector. I revise and research methodologies that align with the program outcomes. I ensure that we remain within the budget of the program. I have weekly meetings/debriefing with both departments to ensure that we are meeting our objectives.

I am a goal driven, ambitious woman and I ensure that any task given to me is executed to the best of my ability. I am a strategic thinker and I’m capable of taking my own initiative where needed. I am able to work in a team as well as independently. I am a fast learner, professional, detail oriented and always ensuring that I advocate for beneficiaries where needed. I am passionate about my career and invest lots of time developing and investing in myself so that I am kept abreast new research.
