- Responsible for Supervising Maintenance Team.

- Work closely with Plant Engineer to ensure smooth operation of the maintenance department.
- Planning of daily, weekly, monthly maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance schedule.
- Drive maintenance strategy. Develop and implement maintenance and preventative plans.
- Contribute and/or take the lead with improvement & upgrade projects.
- Ensure a high standard of housekeeping.
- Assist with breakdowns and after hours call outs.
- Maximize uptime and operational effectiveness of all machinery.
- Administration Function – time sheets, reports, correspondence.
- Liaise with service providers & vendors for technical
- Responsible to drive a culture of adherence to Health and Safety standards.
- Ensure GMP's are adhered to.
- Participate and support Company's food safety and quality objectives.
- Report all problems with the Food Safety to the QA Manager who will initiate and records actions.

To support the operational staff by providing a fully operational plant that can achieve the required production KPI's through a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for both Hatcheries within budget constraints.
- Ensure that breakdowns are attended to timeously without any negative effect on incubation.
- Preventative Maintenance Experience in Medium size Factories. Management and Maintenance experience in hatcheries.
- Refrigeration system preventative maintenance.
- Computer literacy, with confidence in electronic hardware.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to mobilize and discipline the workforce within the department.
- Working knowledge of aspects related to animal husbandry and Incubation principles.
- Good planning and organizational skills in a dynamic environment.
- Attentive to detail.
- Ability to analyse and interrogate data to optimize performance.

- Limiting and reducing all forms of wastage through optimal utility recording and management.

- Ensuring that all Company Assets are adequately maintained and cared for, limiting abuse and unnecessary replacement and repairs, through preventative maintenance and on the job interventions.
- Preventing rework by applying sound technical and management principles.
- Strive to operate within your cost framework / budget on a monthly basis.
- Custodian of consumables baskets, crates, and trolleys for optimal life expectancy at lowest cost.
- Critical spares, cycle orders for all maintenance spares and satellite stores optimally managed and stock levels documented to manage risk to incubation processes.
- Custodian of a documented, effective preventive maintenance program.
- Maintenance schedules for equipment.

- Create a positive work environment through formal and informal, personalized feedback sessions with team members that highlight shortcomings and areas of improvement.
- Manage small projects assigned within budget and on time.
- Where required provide assistance and input on other projects without compromising maintenance effort or service levels.
- Ensure daily checks are done by the drivers
- Communicate any breakdowns to operational staff.
- Liaison person between Sovereign and transport provider.
- Manage transport provider in accordance with contract.
