About

I am passionate about the art of music. I do enjoy the process of passing on skills and traditions to young people. I have remarkable experiences in my career so far performing around the world as a musician and also teaching in my home country and in the UAE.

I revel at the fact that no matter the outcome there is always something to learn in the student/teacher interchange. My long term goal is be as effective as Manfred Eicher and Kieth Jarrett was and still is. As a musician and producer looking to do projects around the world, especially the developing world in the modern era to come.

I enjoy individual and team projects that promotes progress, development, experimentation and collaboration. I do my best to maintain a positive optimistic attitude and pride myself in good work ethics with excellence as my goal.

I've done extensive performances around the world since 2006 with various artist and projects including the Miagi Orchestra (South Africa) which toured Europe in 2018 celebrating Nelson Mandela’s centennial year. Also for many years, from the prestigious record label Blue Note, Nduduzo Makhathini (South Africa).

Touring

Japan in 2019 with the Kyle Shepherd Trio. Recently with Arturo 0’Farrill (U.S.A) with Dr. Al Mulaifi's Boom Diwan Project. I've been apart of the South Africa jazz music scene since I was a young student in High School. It's been an adventure reaching out into other cultures and places, learning new things and meeting new people and of course, making music together.

I am confident that I will bring substance and value to the team, faculty, staff and students as I have a relatively vast pool of experience to offer and share with the community at large. I am also constantly learning and looking for ways to improve, personally, professionally and also, creatively.
