I am a Qualified Boilermaker with Section 13 (Olifantsfontein) in 1993. During my career as a Boilermaker I've worked in different industrial sectors such as manufacturing, construction, FMCG, maintenance, mining plants, petro-chemical plants and power plants. My experience includes fabrication of different steel structures and components such as square to rounds, lobster backs, hoppers & chutes, conveyor lines, vibrating screens, pipe work etc.

I've also experience in maintenance, repair and servicing of equipment and machinery including infrastructure. I've also done installation of fabricated steel structures and components including pipelines in construction sites as well as assisting with commissioning of finished products. This, I've done whilst working in different projects in the country like the Medupi/Kusile project.

My welding skills include electric arc and CO-2 welding and I'm very comfortable with job card system. I can do inspection of machinery and equipment to ensure the smooth operation of the production lines. I adhere strictly to the safety of myself, equipment and those working around me including making sure the environment is safe to work in.

Besides working as a Boilermaker, I've worked as a Commissioning Mechanician and acted as a Maintenance Planner. Personally, I can work well under pressure with or without supervision and am a team worker but can work individually. I'm a dedicated, obedient and honest person who is target driven, self-motivated and takes instructions very well and always goes an extra mile in my duties.

I always want to be part of a winning team and add value to everything I do both as an individual or a team in an organization.

• Perform different welding techniques as per specifications
• Inspection of machinery and equipment as per maintenance requirements set out in the maintenance manuals.
• Plan and perform work according to maintenance plan and schedule and making sure breakdowns are attended promptly to minimize downtime.
• Repair and servicing of all agriculture related machinery and equipment as per maintenance schedule including repair and servicing of all yellow-fleet.

Managed to set up an environment free of unexpected breakdowns and the lifespan of equipment and machinery was extended. Ensured maintenance work is planned and executed to avoid delays and improve productivity.

• Assisting the Maintenance Manager in determining the frequency of planned maintenance to reduce breakdowns.
• Responsible for issuing of planned maintenance schedules and job cards daily.
• Record keeping of proper feedback from maintenance department for proper maintenance management
• Enforcing and ensuring job cards are completed correctly and adhered to.
• Co-ordinate the execution of maintenance tasks. Oversee and manage outsourced maintenance.
• Ensure maintenance KPI's are achieved.

Commissioning mechanician - Mitshubishi Hitachi Power Systems Africa - Medupi Power Station, Lephalale

Was part of a team that performed the first synchronization of the two first units of the power station and supply to the national grid was effected.

• Liaise with sub-contractors to monitor the progress of the installed equipment and machinery before commencement of commissioning.

Successfully installed and modified equipment, components and infra-structure which was readily and successfully used in the process systems on the plant.

Was successful in performing proper maintenance, this helped in saving costs, reducing risks, ensuring safety, promote productivity and elongating the lifespan of assets.

Successfully installed the whole conveyor system in the mine (As a team) including crushers, grinders and separators

Finished building a new sludge-dam and did expansions on the smelt-house
