Deon Van der Merwe

I am a highly experienced, comprehensively trained programmer, fitter and turner,on both CNC and lathe machines. Machining is carried out to customer's specification. I am a self-motivated person that works well under pressure, and if given the chance I can take charge and manage my crew with the respect and guidance that they deserve .I have al lot more skills to offer, I love what I do and I take pride in my work.

I have been in the engineering field for +-20 years, I started as n operator in cnc machine, and just loved working on the machines, I was given the opportunity to start working on lathes and milling machines, and it just came naturally. I went for my cnc progamming courses on milling and turning. And from then on I started to teach myself how to use featureCam, after working for my first company for 10 years I got a really good job offer, I then worked there for about a year, and got the opportunity to start my own engineering company, it started in 2017 and sadly ended in 2020 because of Covid.

I then went on to work for my client, but soon realised that things there where not done in a professional and truthful way.

So yet again, I went to work another client. I was the foreman over the company, and I really enjoyed it. After a year one of my previou clients contacte me , and gave me an opportunity to relocate and work in Ghana with my family. So I started selling my things so that we can start new in Ghana, just as I was done and ready to go, the company was taken over by a local and he decided that he is only taking locals. So I lost everything.. we packed up and moved to Amanzimtoti and here I am.
