• 2021(Aug-To date): Procurement Graduate Trainee at eThekwini Municipality

• Electricity depot (Warehousing)- Responsible for receiving and issuing of stock and capture all stores related documents onto JDE application. Ensure that sufficient stock (cable, transformer, minisubs, poles, meters, components & parts etc..) is made available for staff on duty. Undertake stock taking and ensure safe keeping of stock and correct rotation of stock. Render an administrative function and ensure that procedures are adhered to. Apply strict security and safety controls in the store to prevent theft & injuries. Undertake general maintenance by assisting the Senior Storekeeper in charge of the Electricity depot. Perform warehousing & operations functions to ensure an effective & efficient logistics flow within the municipality. And to ensure proper handling, allocating and sorting of stock items upon delivery. My job enabled the municipality to respond faster and accurately to the needs of its customers.
• City Fleet depot (Purchasing)- I was responsible for sourcing responsive service providers, negotiating with suppliers and buying spare parts and emergency services from service providers within eThekwini Metro. Preparing requisitions for orders, follow up on orders and queries. Ensuring compliance with the PPPFA and MFMA to provide for an effective supply chain management that is cost effective, fair, transparent, and competitive. Effectively integrate JDE system to enable generation requisitions and purchase orders faster and accurately, then we send out order numbers to relevant service provider. 
• Corporate Procurement Department (Contracts)- I was responsible for the contract administration role for the following units (Treasury, Finance, Revenue management, Internal control & SCM). We obtain approved specifications for purchases from units. Source suppliers from CSD or Supplier Self Service(internal) and externally where necessary in line with eThekwini’s SCM policy. Ensuring compliance with the PPPFA and MFMA to ensure an effective supply chain management that is cost effective, fair, transparent, and competitive. Also, I am a part of the municipal bid committees (BSC, BEC and BAC) where we do specifications with line departments, provide recommendations, adjudication, and evaluation of tender documents, and prepare validity letter where necessary, LOAs, and SLAs. We follow the Municipal SCM policy guidelines to ensure compliance and transparency. Oversee and monitor supplier performance in accordance with section 116 and liaise with units about their purchases. 
• Tenders Department (Policy & Support)- Responsible for ensuring safekeeping and filling of supplier database forms, tenders documents, purchase reports, deviation reports for request for quotation. Ensure responsive suppliers are tax compliant and all purchases comply with PPPFA and MFMA guidelines. Expediting purchases and comply with eThekwini’s internal SCM policy. Obtain decisions and reports from Bid Committees to collate data for statistical purposes and for ensuring that procurement is within budgets. Prepare regret letters to services providers, wait for the 14 days appeal period before sending out LOAs.
