I have spent my career inside the investment operations problems that Agulhas Fund Solutions now solves.

I started as a trade desk assistant and progressed through trading, dealing leadership and investment operations. Over more than a decade, I worked across fund pricing, performance fees, trade execution, reconciliations, broker oversight, custody, trustees, foreign exchange, service-level agreements and regulatory processes.

That experience taught me something important. The people with the deepest understanding of an investment business often have the least capacity to improve it. They are consumed by daily deliverables, fragmented data and processes built around tools that are no longer fit for purpose.

Investment firms are frequently caught between two unsatisfactory choices: spreadsheets and manual processes that appear inexpensive but become costly at scale, or rigid legacy platforms that are difficult to customise, integrate and evolve.

I founded Agulhas Fund Solutions to offer a better path.

At Agulhas, I lead a global team of accomplished engineers, investment professionals, operations specialists and compliance experts. Together, we build intelligent software for modern investment operations.

Our software is secure, scalable, cloud-based and API-first. It integrates with existing technology, brings fragmented data together and codifies complex workflows. This gives investment firms the flexibility to modernise the systems they already use or leapfrog manual processes and move directly to a better way of operating.

We are also developing agentic investment systems that can carry operational work forward until human judgement is required. The objective is not to remove people from important decisions. It is to give them better context, greater capacity and more time to make those decisions well.

My focus is on the intersection of investment operations, compliance, data, software architecture and applied AI. I am particularly interested in how modern technology can lower operational, regulatory and key-person risk while helping investment businesses serve their clients and grow.

Today, we work with some of the world's largest and most sophisticated institutional enterprises, solving problems shaped by significant operational scale, complex data and demanding regulatory environments.

I lead company strategy, product direction and the translation of complex investment processes into secure, scalable software. This involves working closely with institutional investment businesses to understand their operating context, codify their workflows and identify where modern technology can create meaningful change.

Our global team combines investment, operations and compliance expertise with modern software engineering. We build standalone, API-first products across portfolio data, instrument management, compliance, file processing and reporting. Each product can integrate with existing client technology or connect smoothly with other Agulhas products.

A major area of focus is the development of agentic investment systems that can coordinate operational work, maintain context and carry workflows forward until human judgement is required.

Our aim is to help investment firms lower operational, regulatory and key-person risk while giving their teams the capacity to move faster, serve clients better and grow.
