- Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical and chemical systems of the water treatment works
- Perform water quality analyses and monitor water quality parameters
- Monitor flocculation process and perform filter backwashing
- De-sludge sedimentation basins according to schedule
- Monitor water demand and control pumping rates
- Operate and control electric motors, pumps and valves
- Prepare chemical coagulant to predetermined concentration

- Operate Wastewater Treatment Works as per SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) and operational requirements
- Perform unit inspections on process, electrical, and mechanical equipment and report defects to the supervisor
- Collect and compile data for Green Drop accreditation
- Receive and monitor chemical stock and record accordingly
- Take over shifts, check status of treatment and pumps, and sign off the occurrence book
- Clean channels, screens, tanks, and other equipment
- Desludge humus tanks and anaerobic/aerobic ponds as per schedule
- Assist with the disposal of dried sludge according to legislation
- Unblock pumps, biofilters, and oxidation ponds flow channels
- Collect and analyse water samples of the entire unit processes
- Calibrate wastewater quality monitoring instrumentation and report faults to the Supervisor
- Measure quality control samples and record results
