At Records my main job was to make sure every patient has a file and that file is available when the doctor needs it. On a daily basis I opened new files, retrieved old files, filed results inside, captured patient details on the system, did admission and discharge, booked follow-up dates, and did daily stats for management. I worked with a lot of pressure, especially in casualty and maternity where files must be fast, but I kept my filing accurate and confidential.
I also know how to trace missing files and use the terminal digit filing system
