I believe in doing any task to the best of my ability, while still maintaining efficiency of time, money, and effort. I am also a great believer in the power of knowledge and applying the latest knowledge and technology to solving problems. Continuously increasing my knowledge, both formally and informally, is one of my life-long goals, this is fed by a natural curiosity.
Honesty, integrity and respect are traits that I value, and will apply to dealings with my employers and colleagues, as well as any clients I may have to deal with. Where hard work is necessary, I will not shy away. I have also found that I am able to work with people of diverse backgrounds and differing viewpoints, and I do enjoy such an environment. I am also able to work well independently.
I am particularly interested in high value agriculture, as well as horticulture, and I am attracted to work where the latest research or novel methods are applied commercially. However, I do have an academic background in all the major plant production fields through a BScAgric degree, and I am in the process of completing an MScAgric in Horticulture. This has greatly developed my ability to make observations and draw relevant conclusions.
With experience to make good on the academics, I believe I can contribute positively wherever I may have the privilege to be involved.
I do also have experience in retail sales, having spent most school and university holidays as a salesman and cashier in a specialised retail business. I have found that I do have the ability to sell a product by listening to a client’s requirements and convincing them of the merit of a product, this is also something that I enjoy.
