Experience: Deceased Estates Paralegal, Office Administrator / & GT Properties, Kleinmond Western Cape (October 2018 – present)

As an estates paralegal I had sole responsibility for a portfolio of 100+ deceased estates which included both 18(3) estates and estates exceeding R10 million. Administration responsibilities included leading initial and follow-up client consultations, autonomously corresponding on behalf of the Executor, preparing estate documents, record keeping, managing disbursements and final distributions, placing adverts, independently liaising with referring attorneys (both domestic and international) and with the Magistrates and High Courts in several provinces. Role included drawing up and finalizing Liquidation & Distribution accounts and regularly rehabilitating estates which had not been administered correctly, typically requiring a full audit of the file and reconstruction of the estate finances from scratch.
