Engineer-in-Training (Chemical Engineering) at Foskor (Pty) Ltd (2025-01 – Present)

• Support daily process engineering, production performance and optimisation across Sulphuric Acid, Phosphoric Acid and Granulation plants through plant walkdowns, field measurements, operator engagement, process-data review and technical investigations.
• Monitor production output, process efficiency, P2O5 recovery/losses, acid/product quality, solids, water use, spills and operating deviations; use trends and laboratory results to recommend corrective and continuous-improvement actions.
• Support unit operations including reaction, filtration, clarification, slurry/solids systems, high-rate thickening, high-temperature sulphur processing and utilities/resource systems.
• Conduct root-cause investigations and equipment/process condition assessments; review P&IDs and design documentation; compile technical reports and corrective recommendations.
• Prepare and present MOCs, participate in HAZOP/risk assessments, update SOPs, develop engineering scopes and CAPEX motivations, and support procurement, suppliers, contractors and shutdown/start-up activities.
