Hi, I'm Nicolene, and I'm a certified language nerd. I'm a versatile writer, editor, proofreader, and applied language expert. When I'm not fighting against grammar injustice, I prowl the internet for random information and pick fights over the Oxford comma.

I'm an experienced writer and editor with a highly social take on content creation. I believe that a well-written text is creative, imaginative, resourceful, concise, and targeted to the reader. I've worked in IT, education, advertising and financial services, where I have applied all these skills - and more.

I'm currently employed at Global Expansion as a Copywriter/Strategist in sales and marketing. I have a strong sense of writing for specific purposes and can quickly adapt to any tone, type, or target. When I'm not writing, editing, or translating, I correct spelling and grammar errors on campaign posters and mentally correct people's spelling while they talk.

I'm a language nerd with geeky needs and will re-read The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy until the day of my funeral.

I have a bachelor's degree in language and literature, majoring in Afrikaans, English, and Language Practice and completed an honours degree in Afrikaans focusing on applied linguistics.
