Work on planning and scheduling for projects. Make sure we have a timeline and a Gantt Chart for each project. My job is to coordinate tasks for the teams and the people who have a stake in the project.
Keep an eye on how the project's going and let everyone know when we reach important milestones. Take care of all the documents and reports, for the project. Sometimes I help with projects moving things to a new system and upgrading our tools.
Make sure we finish our projects on time and do what we said we would do. Help the clients, vendors and our own teams talk to each other and work together.
- Provide and submit daily/weekly/monthly backup reports
- Monitoring of all backups and restore activities
- Troubleshooting and restarting of failed backups
- Handles incidents relating to backup failures and calls ticket related to restore requests
- Upgrading NetBackup environment (Master servers, Media servers, OpsCenter and Clients)
- Upgrading Veritas Backup Exec (Master servers, Media servers and Clients)
- Escalation to additional NetBackup levels in the event the failure cannot be resolved
- Monitor backup jobs across multiple platforms and locations
- Maintain backup policies and standards
- Monitor and review tape device status
- Contact vendors to open service calls for support of Hardware/Software
- Provide follow up on backup tickets in other team's queues
