• Conduct building inspections and intervene / prevent at-risk behaviors and unsafe conditions
• Implementation of the SHE policy and requirements in line with Transnet requirements
• Audit permits and task risk assessments
• Facilitates and conduct Safety, Health and Environmental trainings (New Employee Induction, Contractor and Refresher Trainings).
• Implementation and maintenance of systems and procedures to ensure legislative compliance of Transnet both nationally and internationally, by integrating social, economic and environmental aspects into all spheres of the business
• Report on compliance to Safety rules (e.g. PPE compliance, BBS, near misses)
• Support Transnet during an emergency as part of the emergency fire team 
• Assist Transnet with the roll-out of SHE campaigns and internal audits as required
• Assist with the audit of Service Providers SHE Files and Plans as required
• Contractor management.
