Experience

Office Administrator - Lingitjhudu Secondary School

(2025-03 - 2025-05)

Working as an Office Administrator taught me how to keep a school office running smoothly every day. I gained strong skills in records and filing management, data capturing, typing, and using systems like SA-SAMS for admissions, learner data, and Department of Education returns. My role also involved front desk duties, where I developed professional communication and customer service skills by assisting parents, learners, and staff, while always maintaining confidentiality with sensitive information.

I handled financial tasks such as school fee receipts and petty cash, supported management by taking minutes and managing diaries, and became confident working under pressure while multitasking. Overall, the experience made me organized, reliable, discreet, and able to support the school effectively as the first point of contact for most administrative matters.

Filed Worker - IEC

Working as a Field Worker taught me how to engage with people directly in their communities. I developed strong communication and interpersonal skills by explaining information clearly, listening to concerns, and building trust with different types of people. I also gained practical experience in data collection, accurate record-keeping, and using tools like questionnaires or tablets while maintaining confidentiality.

The role improved my time management, planning, and problem-solving because I had to meet targets, manage daily routes, and adapt to challenges in the field. Overall, I became more patient, resilient, self-motivated, and culturally aware from working in diverse environments under minimal supervision.
