Reece James, a former teacher turned passionate filmmaker from Durban, Kwa Zulu Natal, embarked on his cinematic journey after graduating from AFDA Film School in 2021. Currently pursuing his honours degree at AFDA Film School in 2023, Reece's dedication to his craft was recognized in 2022 when he received an academic bursary from The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF). His impressive portfolio includes working on two notable short films, "Thembisile" for NFVF and "Sweet Wild Things" for Black Entertainment Television (BET). Reece also serves as a camera operator for Super Sports Schools (SSS) and has lent his expertise as a second assistant camera on the popular series "Durban Gen." His role as Director of Photography for music videos and an award-winning student documentary, "Stigma," showcases his unwavering passion for storytelling through visual elements. Reece James is dedicated to breathing life into captivating narratives through the art of cinematography, promising to inspire and move audiences with his creative vision.
