I am a motivated and goal-oriented Chemistry and Geology graduate with proven competence and efficiency in pure chemistry, pure geology, and geochemical applications. I possess a strong theoretical and practical foundation in analytical, inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry, alongside comprehensive knowledge of geological systems including mineralogy, petrology, structural geology, and Earth processes. My interdisciplinary training enables me to confidently operate across laboratory-based chemical analysis, geological fieldwork, and integrated geochemical investigations.
I am proficient in applying quantitative methods, data interpretation, and scientific reasoning to evaluate chemical reactions, material composition, mineral systems, and environmental interactions. I have experience working with laboratory instrumentation, chemical data analysis, sample preparation, quality control procedures, and geological sampling techniques. This allows me to transition efficiently between laboratory, field, and analytical environments while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and adherence to safety standards.
With a strong commitment to scientific integrity, I approach all tasks with precision, critical thinking, and a methodical mindset. I am equally effective at working independently or within multidisciplinary teams, contributing reliably in fast-paced research, academic, or industrial settings. Driven by a strong passion for scientific advancement, environmental responsibility, and continuous professional development, I am committed to expanding my technical expertise and applying innovative, data-driven solutions to complex scientific challenges.
Fluent in both Afrikaans and English, I communicate clearly and professionally across diverse academic, industrial, and research environments, enabling meaningful contributions within chemistry, geology, and geochemical disciplines.
Starting in February 2025 till present I am a Field Technician at Milnex cc.
Consultans responsible for conducting groundwater investigations in support of water-use licence applications and hydrogeological assessments. Duties include performing borehole yield testing such as constant-rate pumping tests, step-drawdown tests and recovery monitoring, as well as carrying out hydrocensus surveys to collect borehole coordinates, water levels, infrastructure details and abstraction information. The role involves installation and monitoring of water-level measurement equipment including dip meters, pressure transducers and data loggers, conducting in-field water quality analysis (pH, electrical conductivity, temperature, TDS and related parameters), and collecting groundwater samples in accordance with applicable SANS and Department of Water and Sanitation guidelines.
Responsibilities also include assisting with specialist groundwater report writing, interpreting laboratory chemistry results, analysing and integrating water quality data into technical reports, compiling tables, maps and figures, maintaining accurate field records, and ensuring all investigations are completed in compliance with regulatory, quality and safety standards
Completed high school at Transvalia High School, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences in Chemistry and Geology at North-West University (NWU). These qualifications provided me a strong foundation in chemical, geological, and environmental sciences, with applied knowledge of of both chemistry an geology processes, and practical field and laboratory analysis.
