In 2022 myself and my fellow students produced a research article on the topic of cybersecurity. We tested the fault tolerance levels of an RFID chip in an anti-poaching environment. Our paper was published on Google Scholar and featured at the 18th International Conference on Cyber Warfare and Security (ICCWS)
I am currently working towards finishing my MA (Socio-informatics) degree at end of 2023. The program entails a full-on thesis and my paper focusses on the biggest problem that the cybersecurity industry faces: the human factor. More security breaches happen because of human error than of technological failure.
My paper therefor investigates which personality types are more susceptible towards social engineering attacks that target humans. At the end of my research, I will be able to state which personality type(s) have a higher cybersecurity risk and which ones have a lower cybersecurity risk level associated with them. My research can be used in companies to determine which employees poses a greater cybersecurity risk for the company and which ones don’t.
Companies will therefore be able to ensign greater security procedures towards higher risk employees.
