Wanda Mbem

Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student pursuing a BScEng Chemical Engineering degree at UCT. I possess interest in the engineering fieldwork and tutoring, which has been underscored by my prior experience in providing tutoring services to secondary schools within my community. Also, I’m proud to highlight that I was awarded the Merit Award in 2019 at UCT Maths Competition.

Tutor at Saturday Maths Programme (2025-03 – Present)

• Tutor grade 9s Mathematics every Saturday.
• Work under the supervision of the head tutor, who tutors grade 10s and 11s Mathematics.
• Assist the head tutor with his pupils and ensure that they understand the content covered on that particular day.

Tutor at OLICO Maths Programme (2025-02 – Present)

• Tutor grade 11s Mathematics during weekdays, 2 days a week in the afternoon.
• Work under the supervision of a coordinator who also assists me with tutoring here and there.
• After every topic, assess the pupils through a test and mark their scripts to track their progress throughout the course of the term/s.
• Upload results using a spreadsheet (this requires understanding and proficient use of Microsoft Excel).

Tutor at YIT+ Steam (2024-02 – Present)

• Tutor grade 11s Mathematics and Physical Sciences during weekdays, 2 days a week in the afternoon.
• Work under the supervision of the programme coordinator and give feedback after each class (who was present, what was covered in class, and how long was the session, etc.).
• Prepare a test for pupils to write after each topic to track their progress.

Tutor at Learning In Extended Academic Programme (2023-02 – 2023-11)

• Tutored grade 11s and grade 12s Physical Sciences every Saturday.
• Worked under the supervision of the head tutor, who also tutored grade 11s and grade 12 Mathematics.
• Aided matric rewriters with their preparations for June Matric Rewrite Exams on Sundays.
• Subjects of specialty were Mathematics and Physical Sciences.

Assistant tutor at Intsebenziswano Senior Secondary School (2022-01 – 2022-11)

• Assisted Physical Sciences teacher in afternoon classes, explained questions, did revision, and marked test scripts after a test.
