I worked as a Learning Support Assistant for Special Needs,

I provide tailored support to students with special educational needs (SEN), helping them to achieve their full potential in both academic and social settings. I work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and foster an inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Student Support
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special needs.
• Assist in the implementation of IEPs, adapting teaching materials and methods to meet individual needs.
• Support students in developing academic skills, as well as social and behavioral skills.
• Classroom Assistance
• Help the class teacher in preparing and organizing classroom activities and materials.
• Assist in managing classroom behavior and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Support students during transitions, such as moving between activities or locations.

3.Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with teachers, special education coordinators, and other professionals to ensure cohesive support.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and any concerns.
• Administrative Duties
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and any incidents.
• Assist with administrative tasks as needed, such as photocopying, filing, and preparing learning materials.
• Professional Development
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay informed about best practices in special education.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute to discussions about improving support for students with special needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is preferred.
• Understanding of various learning difficulties and disabilities.
• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Basic IT skills for record-keeping and communication.
