My name is Manuel, I'm 34 years old. I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Highly skilled and accomplished professional with a Ph.D. in Science and Technology, specialized in microbiology and cellular and molecular biology. Currently leading a 50+ R&D team related to biomanufacturing process optimization.
I have gained valuable industry experience in a biotechnology start-up, where I progressed from Biology division leader to Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) within a year. As the CSO, I effectively oversaw and guided rapidly expanding multidisciplinary teams, actively contributing to recruiting highly specialized individuals within an organization that experienced a significant headcount increase of 500%. I ensured the achievement of objectives while promoting adherence to efficient work methodologies.
Noteworthy accomplishments include establishing and managing versatile and fast-paced work teams, setup of analytical, stem cell, and mammalian cell culture laboratories, assembly of qualified clean areas, staff leadership, and developing and analyzing biotechnological tests.
In more than 5 years in Academy, I have conducted extensive research on the behavior of the 933W bacteriophage and its impact on hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) and became proficient in utilizing a range of microbiological analytical techniques, as well as cell and molecular biology methodologies such as CFU counting, PCR, qPCR, and ELISAs. I am experienced in operating advanced tools including flow cytometers and confocal microscopes, and adept at handling cultures of mammalian cell lines, bacterial cultures, and bacteriophage amplification techniques.
