Amin Karimi

I am applicant who is a graduate of Social Service Immigrant & Refugees program from Seneca College. I am very proud to apply for the Settlement Counsellor position advertised on your website. I am bilingual person Fluent in Farsi and English. I have excellent interpersonal and social skills. I have two years experience in Settlement, Community development, recreation in Social Service environment. I also posses strong reading and writing skills. I have received the John Fillian Community Award in year 2008 for helping students with social issues.

I have assisted and showed Settlement Counsellors as a college student in the Working Woman Community Centre Settlement agency. I also worked with Settlement law office and immigration lawyer who worked with my agency. I also volunteered at and food bank called Oriole Food Space by assisting newcomers and helping the Settlement Counsellors of my agency with assisting clients and doing a lot of translation for newcomers who were clients if the Food space and working woman community center Agency . Since I and my family were newcomers to Canada from Iran 25 years ago. I learned a lot about Settlement and became bet interested in Immigration and helping newcomers. Having the job of a Settlement Worker is really its own reward.

I graduated from Seneca College of Social Service Worker Immigrant & Refugees program. Where the founder of the program and Coordinator Professor Sohaila Pashang. Who I had a lengthy meeting conversations regarding Settlement. My coordinator really had great admiration and respect for me as a student and my compassion in Settlement and helping newcomers. In fact we both were Iranian. I also assisted immigration lawyers and a large Food space that worked with the Settlement Agency that I completed my Co op Internship and volunteer work. I am Bilingual Fluent in Farsi and English. I have two years experience working settlement, community development, recreation in social service environment. I have effective reading and writing skills, my research skills are superb and outstanding. I have received the John Fillian Award in for helping students with social issues. I have practical training relevant to Settlement. I have great general knowledge regarding Settlement and Immigration Refugees Citizenship Canada.
