Andrew Montell

In my early twenties, disillusioned with the conventional employment opportunities before me, I took the plunge and launched my first business, a free hip hop magazine titled Out4Fame in Melbourne, Australia. Despite many tough lessons learned, I caught the entrepreneurial bug and I have been exclusively self-employed for the past twenty-five plus years. My career has included multiple forays in digital and print publishing, artist management, event promotions, the founding of a creative agency, a record label and the establishment of Melbourne's first Soul Food restaurant.

I've been a journalist, an editor, a video director, a creative director, a business partner and a boss. I've worked with some of the biggest media businesses in the world and my client roster includes many of the biggest brands in the world.

I have recently relocated from Australia to Toronto, Canada where I hold permanent residency. I am looking for creative work opportunities where I can apply my varied skillset to the right company.

I have spent my career in publishing and digital media, first in print and then web. Most recently I have focused on publishing via video with social media audiences in mind. I have operated as a Creative Director and I have also managed a large sales portfolio of advertising clients. These two skillsets are complimentary, meaning that I understand the balance between creativity and commercial reality.

I have a BA in Advertising from RMIT (Melbourne, Australia)
