Fully accredited by the Association of Chartered Industrial Designers of Ontario as a Chartered Industrial Designer, Jay Sobel has been recognized by his various communities for significant achievements as a design thinker, as a human-centric solutions provider, as an innovative designer, as a design educator, as a volunteer minor lacrosse coach, and as a pure-bred dog breeder, owner and handler. He is a proud father and a devoted husband.
With diverse experience in product research, design, manufacture and marketing through stints in Global Corporations, Small Businesses and Architectural and Product Design Firms, Jay has demonstrated proven leadership skills championing human factors concerns, defining product functionality, and creating an appropriate "look and feel" across product platforms in the telecommunications, defense, health care, pet care, sporting goods and hardware industries. International and domestic development ventures in these fields have led to the creation of products and systems that allow people to communicate reliably, to live more securely, to experience quality health care and recovery, to care for their pets and homes, and to safely enjoy recreational experiences.
I graduated “with distinction” from the Faculty of Engineering at Carleton University in Ottawa with a Bachelor of Industrial Design degree. I alos hold a four year bachelor of Science degree in Human Biological Sciences and Anthropology from the University of Toronto.
