I am an International Humanitarian and Development Professional passionate about driving global social impact and fostering sustainable development. With extensive experience in the humanitarian and development sector, I bring expertise in community development, project management, youth empowerment, and leadership development.

Having represented Sri Lanka on global platforms and led transformative local initiatives, I have consistently delivered impactful projects, navigating challenges with strategic problem-solving and risk management.

I specialize in Non-Profit Management, Project Management, Grant Writing, and Fundraising. My academic background includes a Master’s degree in Development Studies, a Bachelor’s in Business Management (specializing in Events Management), and a National Diploma in Training and Human Resource Development.

Now based in Calgary, Alberta, I am eager to collaborate on initiatives that inspire change, foster growth, and create a lasting impact.

In my previous role as Technical Specialist – Partnerships & Capacity Development at World Vision, I developed and implemented community engagement strategies for a disaster preparedness project funded by USAID. I spearheaded training programs, coordinated volunteer efforts, and built partnerships with diverse stakeholders to amplify impact. Similarly, as Project Lead, I managed community initiatives that improved food security for over 5,000 households, demonstrating my ability to lead projects addressing critical community challenges.

My experience organizing public events aligns well with the responsibilities of this role. I have successfully planned and executed rallies, training sessions, and community gatherings, ensuring inclusive participation and measurable outcomes. For example, as Youth Development Specialist with the International Youth Alliance for Peace, I facilitated over 20 workshops that empowered young leaders to engage in climate advocacy and social cohesion efforts.

Academically, I hold a Master of Development Studies from the University of Colombo and a Bachelor of Business Management in Events from Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka. Additionally, my National Diploma in Training & Human Resource Development from CIPM has equipped me with advanced skills in team leadership and organizational strategy, essential for managing high-performing teams.
