As the owner of Lukas Custom Framing Ltd I am responsible for all day to day operations of the company including,
- managing a staff of up to 15 workers in a productive, safe and efficient manor
- scheduling with general building contractors to maintain construction schedule
- review construction blueprints, roof system engineering, floor system engineering and steel structure engineering to ensure cost effective and efficient construction of project
- co-ordinate with engineers and architects to develop construction procedures on multi-faceted buildings
- specialized in all structural wood frame construction including heavy timber frame fabrication, cross laminated timber, nail laminated timber, glue laminated timber and stick frame construction
- support concrete foundation carpenters when required to keep jobs on schedule
- support steel structure erection crew when required
- familiar with operating multiple types of equipment including, skid steer loaders, scissor lifts, telescopic forklifts, cranes
General Manager at Brann Built Homes Ltd (1998-09 – 2005-11)
While working for my family's home building company straight out of high school I was responsible for all on site activities. This included,
- Managing staff on multiple job sites
- Reviewing construction blueprints
- Survey and stakeout site for excavation
- Footing and foundation construction
- Request for inspections at appropriate time throughout the construction process
- Frame homes to help maintain schedule
- Meet with mechanical and electrical trades to confirm scope of work for each project
- Manage on site tours for home owners
- Home turnover walk through on possession dates
- Liaison between homeowners and builder to professionally resolve any conflicts
