I am an Animator living in Richmond a B.C Canada
I’m highly familiar with Maya always trying to learn new tricks and techniques. Though sometimes I have to go outside animation. For example, I have talked directly with compositors to find work arounds on some tricky shots.
For years I’ve had an interest in martial arts and have taken several lessons in multiple disciplines. My experience in my hobbies has been vital in helping me bring that knowledge back to my work. For example, having worked on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, my background in ninjutsu, karate, and fencing has been vital to my animation skills.
I love the work of bringing to life stories that entertain and inspire others to become more like their heroes. To that end I often watch people, trying to figure things out about them by how they move and interact, for example, the intimate and subtle way family members hug compared to the more flamboyant way acquaintances do to create genuine character animation.
Ultimately I’d like to become a lead or supervising animator and help elevate other animators and enable them to reach their own goals while still being able to animate myself. I can’t imagine not animating, studying and replicating human emotion and movement is fun for me, making me willing to put in extra hours to get the job done on time and looking great.
