As a graduate student at Dalhousie University, I am completing my Master of Science degree in Pharmacology, focusing on the molecular mechanisms of circadian rhythms in Drosophila. I have been working with a renowned professor and a collaborative team of researchers since September 2021, contributing to publications and presentations on this topic. I have also developed skills with cell culture, Drosophila melanogaster (fruit flies), proteins and DNA, as well as in using various laboratory techniques and software. Previously, I graduated from Université de Moncton with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2021, where I gained a solid foundation in the principles and applications of these fields. I have been focused on advancing the understanding of behavioural disorders related to circadian rhythms. I am eager to apply my knowledge and skills to my next career.
I have extensive work experience in a laboratory setting as well as in quality control. My experience as a microbiology laboratory technician as well as a quality control technician have allowed me to gain additional skills that will benefit me in a large number of roles.
I've worked as a research assistant at the New Brunswick Centre for Precision Medicine. I conducted research and used a wide variety of scientific techniques to evaluate the effects on the mitochondria in Parkinson’s Disease. Produced data from cell cultures, analyzed data, presented data, completed statistics and wrote a scientific report.
I've also had the opportunity of a microbiology laboratory analyst at La Maison BeauSoleil in New Brunswick, where I performed tests and analyzed samples of oysters to confirm or deny the presence of various bacteria.
Additionally, I've had a role as quality control personnel at Baie Ste Anne Seafoods in New Brunswick. I assured the quality of production of snow crab and lobster and conducted many tests related to temperatures, cleanliness, and efficiency.
I have earned a Bachelor of Science with a specialization in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at University of Moncton, New Brunswick.
I've also earned a Master of Science degree in Pharmacology at Dalhousie University, where I focused on neuroscience and biochemistry based studies. I've been awarded a number of scholarships and I've had the opportunity to present my thesis work at conferences and events all around the world.
