My name is Michele Etienne and I have been working in the global mobility/immigration space for over 15 years. I am a US citizen currently working in Toronto, Canada. In my current role as a Senior Program Manager, Global Immigration, I assist clients with moving talents across the globe. I support clients with developing programs and policies for their expatriates and short-term business traveller populations.
In my current role, I work with tax, immigration and social security experts to provide holistic advice/guidance to clients.
As an expat in Toronto, Canada, I understand first hand the process of recruiting talents and moving to a new country; hence, in addition to providing creative compliant solutions to clients, I am able to relate to my clients and empathize.
I began my career working at the United Nations Office in New York, where I developed an interest in global mobility and immigration. After a couple of years at the UN, I accepted a position with American Field Services (AFS) as their Immigration Specialist (Outbound). I assisted high-school students and educators with immigration processes for short and long-term assignments to 52 countries.
Subsequently, I worked at Fragomen in New York as a Senior Consultant, Global Immigration, where I assisted corporate clients with moving and assigning talents to various locations in Europe, the Americas and Africa. In 2012, I accepted a position with EY Law in Toronto, Canada, as a Manager, Global Immigration. As the client relationship manager, I ensure that agreed KPIs and protocols are met. Assist clients with program strategy and speed of deployment to minimize disruption to business, as employees complete their immigration procedures. I work closely with various stakeholders including tax, social security and immigration experts.
Bachelor of Science, Behavioural Science from Mercy College
