I processed withdrawals, deposits, loan payments, and utility payments daily. Being bilingual, I was able to assist the customer service desk when needed and function as an efficient teller. My ability to think analytically was enhanced and I gained a lot of knowledge about risk management.

I continued my career and decided to join the Social Security Board team at the Belmopan Branch. The first six Months at Social Security Board I was tasked to carefully review every year of contributions made for every applicant seeking a retirement pension. Thereafter I had to enter all the new files in the system for the pensioners that are now qualified to receive their pension.

I excelled at my position and was given the task to print social security cards for everyone across the country that applied. Here my ability to pay close attention to details was increased as I needed to make sure all the information on the social security card was accurate. Thankfully, I had minimal errors and always did great on my appraisals.

• Review each application set of contributions for accuracy for everyone that's applying for retirement pension.
• Prepare payments for retirement, disablement & invalidity pensioners.
• Entered life declaration forms (P6) in the system.
• Processed new files in the system for retirement pensioners.
• Printing SSB cards for everyone that applied across the country.

Finally, my working experience at Simpson's Insurance Agency, where I served as an executive assistant to one of, if not the most successful financial advisor in Mr. Abel Simpson, allowed me to expand my understanding of finance and administration duties significantly. I learned an awful lot about life/health insurance and how it works.

As his direct assistant and a Sagicor customer service agent, I was able to advance my career and learn how to handle myself with greater professionalism. I was fortunate to schedule his meetings and interact with clients on an intimate level. I dealt with queries from clients and performed administrative duties on a daily basis while completing life and health insurance applications.

I was also assigned to conduct his PowerPoint presentation and had to ensure that it was accurate and ready for the presentation. Our presentations were largely geared to businesses/establishments interested in enrolling their employees in a life/health insurance group plan. Simply being with him every day and seeing how he operates and interacts with clients boosted my confidence and communication abilities.
