I've been all around the hospitality industry , started as a server/host/busser then part of the restaurant managing team. after that I moved into back of house F&B as a line cook up to a sue chef. I've also been a front desk agent, a shift lead, and a night auditor. I've been in several management positions starting with GSM , gaining more trust I also took on managing the restaurant and events at the resort. The highest 2 positions I've held have been AGM and Operations Manager, managing 76 employees and their managers under several different departments.
I am a team leader and believe in leading by example and being present to support my staff. I also believe that no one should dread going to work and try my best to make sure employees feel happy and appreciated at work with a focus on employee retention and growth.
In 2019 I received my bachelors degree in Hospitality Management from Vancouver Island University. The variety of hospitality courses at VIU definitely helped prepare me for the industry, plus having to do three co-op practicums helped introduce me to people in the industry as well as give me much needed experience.
Coursework included: Leadership Skills, Organization Management, Marketing, Food and Beverage services, Cooking services, Accounting, Financial Control, Revenue Management and PMS training.
