Hardworking Durham College graduate of the Hotel and Restaurant Operations Management course seeking employment. Interested in gaining experience to become hotel manager. Offering great focus, excellent interpersonal communication, accounting skills, Opera PMS knowledge, data entry skills and good judgment. Good with people and motivated to learn, work together and excel at the job. Passionate about giving guests a great experience and making them feel right at home. Detail-oriented team player with strong computer skills. Demonstrated ability to complete work much faster than expected. Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy. Experience working in fast-paced hotel front desk environments.
During my time at the holiday inn, I performed several tasks around the hotel, such as sweeping the floors and folding sheets, but most often I was asked to the front desk, where I excelled. I assigned rooms, processed check-ins and check-outs, processed payments, answered phone calls with proper etiquette, made room keys, and helped guests with questions or concerns. The manager was very pleased with my performance, especially the speed in which I assigned rooms, made reservations and entered guest billing information using Opera PMS. I was very fast at typing and was always careful and accurate with sensitive personal information of the guests. I answered phones and handled guest complaints in a prompt and friendly manner. I coordinated with housekeeping to update the cleanliness status of each room.
Both the manager and multiple coworkers were impressed with how quickly I finished reservations, and verbally noted that it would have taken them much longer to complete. I learned how to multitask while greeting guests, cleaning, and handling customer complaints when nobody else was available to do so. I always maintained a calm, friendly and professional attitude when dealing with concerned or angry customers. I am proficient with Microsoft Excel and Office. I learned accounting skills during my 'Accounting for Hospitality' course at Durham College. I have great phone etiquette and performed many ‘call around's' to log the daily rates of other hotels in the area.
