For the past 5 years I have been with Canadian Pacific in Rail Traffic Control. It is a job that requires a cool head in a high stress environment and at the same time applying several layers of rail control methods while watching for safety issues, managing crew hours, train lengths, dangerous goods, work loads, foreman and track work and engine power moves. Communication with crews, workers and management is done with a combination of radio, phone and computer messages, escalating changing conditions and problems to supervisors.
