Shareen Teja

I was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and moved to Vancouver, BC when I was about 6 years old. I moved to Toronto, Ontario in 2016 to further my early childhood education and have been living here for 6 years. I am passionate about volunteering within my community and enjoy dancing as a Solo Fusion Bollywood Dancer. I have the desire to try new things and learn about different cultures. I am interested in photography and creating videos as it has become a new interest.

I have my Special Needs/Early Childhood Education diploma from Douglas College in Vancouver, BC. In 2016, I decided to move to Toronto to further my education in the Honors Bachelor of Child Development Program. I have been working with children for about 11 years and was given the opportunity to work in a school in Kampala, Uganda for my 4-month co-op placement.

My goal is to gain the experience to learn from children and their families about their progress and how we as practitioners can continue our learning and develop our skills in any shape or form. I enjoy working with children in diverse settings. I am a hard worker and team leader, and I have a collaborative approach; dedicated to providing support for the needs of the child(ren), their families, and the staff.

Currently; I am working in a childcare centre as a Preschool Teacher.
