Shweta Nair

I am a University of Waterloo Math graduate with a computer science minor. My education instilled in me important skills such as critical thinking, innovation, and focus, which I put to use in my time working for BMO and Shoppers Drug Mart as a business analyst. I spent my time at Shoppers working in the exciting world of digital pharmacy and healthcare where I got to experience collaborating in an Agile/Scrum environment.

I worked with various stakeholders and developed user stories to digitally complete manual processes as well as completed QA testing to ensure it met pharmacy needs. At BMO, I worked in the Collateral Management group and then moved onto the Operations Accounting team. Working in the finance and accounting world helped me understand how to provide concise and accurate reports, handle large amounts of sensitive data, and use new software all while working with my team and clients.

I also come from a programming background of Python, R, and MATLAB which were used to code and plot research models at Waterloo. I would describe my main assets as having extensive experience with gathering requirements for meeting business needs, communicating expertly with stakeholders and team members to complete projects, and long history with data to create optimized and intuitive reports

March 2021 – January 2023: Shoppers Drug Mart, Toronto, Canada

Business Analyst – Connected Pharmacy Care

• Worked with stakeholders to gather requirements for the development of smart forms, which is a tool used to digitally complete manual pharmacy processes like medication reviews, minor ailments etc.
• Wrote user stories in JIRA from the requirements gathered that outlined what these forms should look and function like for developers 
• Helped support the maintenance of these forms after they went live, by documenting user feedback in JIRA and prioritizing any future enhancements to forms as well as leading the trouble shooting effort for immediate bugs
• Created reports on smart form usage metrics using Excel Macros and Google Analytics, that gave insight into which stores/provinces were struggling with switching to the smart form
• Supported QA testing by ensuring each product finished by developers aligned with the business needs and goals of the stakeholders

August 2020 – February 2021: BMO, Toronto, Canada

Business Analyst – Operations Accounting 

• Handled outgoing wires in CAD and USD for clients by compiling all client wires into the outstanding wires report based on the details given by clients and posting them at EOD 
• Handled the cash sweep and cross pollination processes of moving excess cash to manage outstanding debts using Excel Macros
• Processed the daily write off amounts by working with clients and posting to ADP
• Helped develop and then used a Cash Forecasting template that gathered entries from BMO data and used Excel Macros to provide values that was discussed with a client and agreed upon before posting on ADP

March 2020 – August 2020: BMO, Toronto, Canada

Business Analyst – Collateral Management 

• Uploaded the daily values of trades for clients to Calypso
• Used Macros to download BMO and client notional from Calypso, then resolving the reconciliation breaks by sending emails to counterparty and traders and determining errors
• Created a daily report of all trades including the status of breaks as of EOD for archive purposes
• Obtained BMO call amounts and trades from Calypso and compared to the counter party data, and reconciled any disputed market calls outside the BMO tolerance amount
• Matched the trades by ISIN/CUSIP, determined the reason for the market difference, then sent this data to CP and BMO teams to solve the dispute
