After completing my studies in 1998, in electrical engineering at the university of applied science (HTL) in Rapperswil, Switzerland, I started my professional career as a commissioning engineer for mission critical telecommunication systems for utilities at ABB. During that time, I was responsible for various tasks, such as commissioning, engineering and site management. More than 70% of my work was done abroad, working on projects for the T&D Utilities mainly in Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, UAE and Mexico.
For the last 19 years, I have now been working in ABB's Process Automation Business Area in various roles, such as project manager and team leader for large scale industrial processing plant projects in the cement and mining industry. In 2014, I took on the position as Regional Sales Manager for Southeast Asia and Australia for the Global Product Group Mining, Aluminium and Cement, leading the sales team in the region. Four years ago, was assigned the role of the Global Industry Segment Lead for Cement, reporting to the Global Business Line Manager.
My position was now extended to the role of the Global Business Unit Manager for Cement, where I have the complete P&L responsibility for the Business Unit, with a global workforce of approx. 160 people, and a budget of approx. 80MUSD/year. In parallel, I’m also responsible as global Strategic Account Executive for the relationship with the Holcim Group, as well as Key Account Executive for the CRH Group in Ireland.
1990 – 1994 Apprenticeship as electronics technician at the military airbase Dübendorf (CH)
1994 – 1998 Bachelor’s in electrical engineering (FH Ost, Rapperswil; CH), with focus on digital signal processing and power electronics.
