A full-time position in the Prices Development team at the ONS, where the team’s main responsibility is producing inflation statistics, namely CPI and CPIH.

• Worked online throughout the placement during which my communication skills allowed me to work closely and collaborate with my team, resulting in me chairing daily online meetings.
• Responsibilities ranged from longer-term data manipulation projects to information collation, which I then presented to superiors, working to both personal and team-based deadlines.
• The work was fluid and not restricted by the remit of the team. This offered a versatile working experience across multiple teams where I adapted quickly, whilst gaining experience in various software types (SAS, Python, and ArcGIS).
• Developed a unique reference identifier enabling accurate allocation of retailers using Excel, leading to a write-up presented to a technical panel.

Bank of New York Mellon (BNY)

Competitive work shadowing scheme which permitted me access to senior functions within the bank and interaction with Execution Traders, Relationship Managers, Compliance, Risk, Audit, and Business Facing Functions.

• Engaged within different departments, allowing me a comprehensive and working understanding of the relevant responsibilities and scopes of various teams.
• Offered the opportunity to contribute to numerous meetings, garnering me the raw experience of what is expected from a corporate employee.

Worked for an engineering consultancy firm MJL which collaborate to erect large commercial buildings in central London.

• Worked within the office where I gained an in-depth understanding of the planning work required, where I quickly familiarised myself with new software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Spent time on-site which offered me a hands-on operational experience, where I communicated and collaborated with on-site managers.

Worked for a month working at Pentagon Consulting, a recruitment firm which place clients in various roles both domestically and internationally.

• With my main duties sitting within the accounting department, I performed various tasks that required the use of excel to analyse large databases and then conveyed my findings.
