I have over 35 years experience in IT systems architecture, project management and delivery, having designed and delivered or overseen the delivery of hundreds of IT projects. My clients have been primarily third sector (non-profit) organisations but I have also worked in corporate environments. On the coal face, I have also designed, deployed and administrated Linux systems since 1998, worked with server hardware as well as managed AWS and Google Cloud infrastructures.
One of my oldest and specialist skills is in VBA, having developed with the language since its inception in 1993, building complex Apps for a diverse range of clients such as Citibank, The Princes Trust (now the Kings Trust), Urban Space Management and the Chichester College Group for whom I recently redesigned and project managed the rewrite of their International Online Examinations Systems portal and Exam Marking Systems to use a combination of Ruby on Rails, Postgresql (RDS and hosted) and custom VBA Apps on Microsoft Access 365.
