➢ Regular provision of 1:1 emotional and psychological support integral to this job role. This includes providing verbal de-escalation, de-briefs, conflict resolution, use of breathing and grounding techniques, emotion regulation and coping strategies, psychoeducation, interpersonal, occupational, and social skill development. ➢ Extensive training and experience of care and safety (crisis and contingency) planning, clinical documentation, running occupational therapy groups, minute-taking and audiotyping. Working with clinical psychologists to co-facilitate psychology groups with clinical psychologist and deliver low-level psychotherapeutic interventions such as graded exposure and behavioural activation. Additional assistant psychologist roles for assessment clinics including administration of psychometric assessment, notes review and case summary for each young person and minute-taking during clinical meetings and medication reviews.
Lead and completed mentoring for fellow HCA new starter, alongside undertaking bank shifts on adult wards within NELFT and shadowing assistant psychologist in PICU. ➢ Achieved certification in PMVA physical intervention training, alongside Immediate Life Support, Safeguarding Children and Adults, Clinical Audit, Manual Handling, Equality and Diversity training and Care certificate.
