I am a qualified and experienced PE teacher who has just relocated back home to Ormskirk after teaching in London for two and a half years. I am obviously on the Update DBS service and have completed extensive first aid and safeguarding qualifications.
I am a strong and talented practitioner who can add value and drive improvements in the Physical and Health Department. My experience of strategic development, leading teams and raising standards means I have the energy, vision and capacity to be an integral part of shaping the developing success at various establishments.
I am adaptable and effective with decision making when faced with change and challenges. I provide inspiration, direction and hold the vision to develop both students and staff and can communicate these effectively. I fully understand how sport and PE can positively impact lives and the local community.
I am a talented sportswoman myself and such high standards are reflected in my credentials and teaching. I have coached male football teams, coached football in Germany, established curriculum rugby for girls (one team being northern champions) and I demonstrate a high level of competency in sport. I take ideas that can be accessible for all learners and unlock potential in sports people.
I also have represented my county in a range of sports and am always willing to share my experiences to help mentor students of all ages. I take a keen interest in all growing sports and have achieved the UEFA B infootball coaching. I feel that by being a positive role model allows learners to connect with others, especially teachers and coaches, gaining respect.
This develops a positive learning environment with a core strand of fun and achievement. I create strategies for success with small structured time scales. This allows the student’s learning to be paramount and develop the understanding of time management in what can be very hectic lifestyles for young people.
Results from this have included improvements in attainment scores and improved attendance.
I hold a BA(Hons) in Physical Education and English with a Qualified Teacher Status. I graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 2001.
