About
I am a committed and experienced individual. I have worked within the care sector for many years and worked within different care settings. I have a good value base and understanding of the issues vulnerable service users face and I believe that a person-centred approach enables individuals to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to make informed choices and have the best outcomes.
I have experience of working with some of the hardest to reach individuals, clients who had disengaged with services completely or did not actively engage with services. Many were sleeping rough on the streets of Glasgow and many living within hostel and B&B accommodations. I was able to build positive working relationships with these individuals and supported them to engage with appropriate services.
Having worked in social care for many years I have a good understanding of the needs of individuals specifically in relation to addiction, mental health and social deprivation and I am aware of the stigma that can be attached in local communities.
