I’m currently at the end of my maternity leave, my job before leaving to have my baby was as a care worker in the community. I absolutely loved it, and worked right up until I possibly could! I loved meeting new people and getting to know them and made such lovely friends with them and their families. I loved to hear all their stories of their life and just loved giving them my time and and all the best care I could possibly give. I also always got such amazing feed back from them too, which I was extremely grateful for. I’m now looking for a different type of caring role and would like to try something different whilst still using my excellent care skills.
Before I got into the caring field, I cared for my poorly father, who has since sadly passed. I cared for him for a number of years, and as his health deteriorated I needed that extra bit of help which is when carers came in to help take the load off of me. It was then I decided I really wanted to give something back to people who were in the same position as he was, although he was lucky to have all his family to help him with his daily needs, I knew there were people out there who weren’t quite as lucky as he was which is why I wanted to be there for them and help bring some brightness to their days whilst also caring for them.
Before caring I worked in a food establishment where I was trained in customer service. I grew to be highly versatile and adaptable to fast-paced, changing environments. I am an approachable friendly individual who always likes to engage in general conversation with new people. I am an organised, independent worker with strong time management skills, I am able to learn new tasks quickly and effectively.
Possessing excellent memory and aptitude for new skills.
