I have six years of experience working as a legal secretary for a busy law firm in the West Midlands. I have efficient organisational and time management skills with an eye for detail and would love the opportunity to be able to use my customer service skills to become a valuable team member. I am also a self-published author who has a passion for literature.
2017 – 2023 – Waldrons Solicitors
Starting as an apprentice in the Criminal Department I worked as a receptionist dealing with new enquiries and existing clients both face to face and over the phone. Professionally handling sensitive information, I was able to confidently assist vulnerable clients. Further duties included handling incoming/outgoing post, banking and use of dictation software to produce documents via the Case Management System, ensuring compliance to GDPR.
Upon completion of my apprenticeship, I transferred into the Care Department as legal secretary. I worked across both Care and Crime Departments supporting multiple fee earners in a challenging and fast paced environment. Using my customer service skills, I was able to assist a wide range of clients and professional bodies including Local Authorities, Courts, and Barristers Chambers.
Utilising my knowledge of specialist systems, I completed legal aid applications, made interim claims and allocated fees. I also used Adobe
Acrobat DC to produce Court bundles and redact documents. My role further involved handling new enquiries, opening files and diary management.
