I am an energetic, playful creative arts therapist in training. I have worked internationally as an Au Pair, SEN and ESL Tutor with a passion for inclusive practice and empowering people to achieve social change and expression through theatre. I am currently completing an MA at the University of Derby, and looking for more opportunities to develop my facilitating skills.
I have recently worked in an early intervention team, supporting young carers and looked after children with anxiety and low mood. I am a co-founder of a service using creative techniques to deliver engaging english lessons to children in Thailand. I also have worked in low verbal ways to teach English in Italy using drama games, so I am well versed in thinking on the spot and problem solving within a team.
Beyond my background in mainstream and 1:1 SEN tutoring, I have several years' experience working creatively and therapeutically with children and young neurodiverse people individually and in groups. I am at the end of my Masters degree training in dramatherapy and have over a year's practical experience of delivering adaptive psychotherapeutic sessions.
My approach to working with young people is humanistic, with a passionate belief that we meet the individual where they are.
I have flexible availability including Saturdays, and a car so that I can travel to multiple locations, currently my work placement as trainee dramatherapist is in a secure hospital in Birmingham, where I am part of a Multi-disciplinary team. I value communication and safeguarding to keep young people safe and inspired.
