I am an enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced teacher and Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator. I am committed to ensuring that the needs of all children are met and the gap between peers lessens.

I endeavour to forge positive working relationships with children, parents/ carers, staff and outside agencies in order to meet the needs of children.

I am an excellent communicator, well-motivated and manage my time effectively thus enabling me to attend meetings, work with children and their parent/ carers, liaise with outside agencies, complete statutory paperwork, lead meetings, lead and attend training events.

As SENCO, Designated Safeguarding Lead and Designated teacher for children in care, my experience is varied and includes:

• Attending Personal Education Planning (PEP) meetings for students on my caseload; supported Designated Teachers and colleagues to set termly academic and pastoral targets for young people in care (ages 5-25)
• Working closely with young people, parents/carers, social care and outside agencies
• Making timely referrals to outside agencies as appropriate e.g.; Educational Psychologist, CAMHs, youth justice, SEND (both in and out of county)
• Maintaining the SEND register and prioritised needs of the most vulnerable students
• Delivering training to staff and Governors 
• Supporting transitions at all key stages from pre-schools and nurseries to further education

In addition, I was responsible for:

• Ensuring that the educational and pastoral needs of students are met
• Co-ordinating and leading EHCP Reviews, PEP meetings and multi-agency meetings
• Ensuring that teaching and learning activities and specialist adult support matched the individual needs of students; planned bespoke timetables for students in close liaison with teachers and outside agencies (e.g.; CAMHS, social care) and regularly monitored progress
• Monitoring reporting and escalating safeguarding concerns
• Meeting regularly with parents/ carers and students to monitor academic and pastoral progress and make adjustments as necessary, listening and responding to the voice of the young pers
